Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Car shut off while driving. All electrical went out. Doors all locked while inside, key stuck in ignition. Started with side detection warning and within a few days car completely shut off while driving! Huge safety issue! Will not restart and still can't get key out of the ignition. Battery is fully charged but no power. Completely dead. There is a known recall on 2014 Gmc acadias for electronic module failure but not our specific vehicle though this seems to be the exact cause of our problems. Gmc said they could not help?!”

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.”
