“I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the SRS system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the SRS wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.”

I paid for a replacement seat belt 17 June 2024 from Val Strough Honda dealership in Seaside CA, a special order. Seat belts for 2017 Honda Accords have been back-ordered ever since. I have checked back every couple of months; still back-ordered 13 months later. At one time the dealer said there were 59 back-orders for that part. The dealer received one July 6th which went to a customer who had waited 2 years for it. …”

During the impact, the driver's seat belt failed to retract and secure the driver. No warning lights were illuminated. There was cosmetic damage but it was not severe due to the collision being minor and at low speeds. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop and the mechanic did not provide a diagnosis however, the mechanic informed the contact that the part to do the repair was unavailable. …”
