“While I was driving the seat belt deployed and locked up on me and I wasn't in a crash. I had already had it replaced (paid about $700) and it locked up (deployed) again without a crash. Honda refuses to cover it. One Honda dealer had me drive to another (without a working seat belt) and neither dealer will cover it and Honda corporate said it will not be covered.”
NHTSA complaint #10726953, filed 2015-06, 165,000 miles“The dealer replaced my passenger seat. After that my srs warning light went off. It's been cycling on and off for years now. I was too frustrated at how I was treated at the dealership to go back at the time. Now I went in because I need to pass inspection and they tell me my whole srs system has had an internal error.”
NHTSA complaint #10468437, filed 2012-07, 15,585 miles“The seat belt forcefully locked up while I was driving. Very scary. I could not loosen it. I pulled over and after a few minutes my brother in the passenger seat was able to help me unbuckle it. There was no crash. It just locked up without warning while I was driving. I didn't hit a pothole or a curb. Seems like a safety issue that Honda might have tried to take care of but they won't cover the costs of repair since it is out of warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #10712639, filed 2015-04, 164,000 miles“Driver side safety pretensor malfunctioned. This issue caused the airbag to not work if in an accident. Honda should replace any safety issues with any vehicles. I had to get it replaced by a Honda dealership costing 430.00.”
NHTSA complaint #11145095, filed 2018-11, 179,000 miles“Inadvertently bumped into curbing while making a turn. Side wall of left front tire pierced, and plastic bumper moved. Bumper easily snapped back into place, tire replaced, and alignment checked. No damage except that seat belt failed in fully extended position after actuation with sudden stopping. Honda refused to honor warranty despite vehicle with less than 10,000 miles and two months old. Car is 2007 Honda Civic hybrid. …”
