“My wife and I have a 2001 Honda CR-V. Within the span of a few months, the door locks on all four doors malfunctioned and broke. The lock on the front passenger-side door broke in a position that prevents the passenger from being able to open the door, which is a safety concern for us. Our dealership informed us that it would cost over $300 per lock for repair. We have not yet had the front passenger-side lock fixed due to the cost, so the lock is still broken. We have also not yet had the lock on either rear door replaced, also due to the cost.”

NHTSA complaint #10114205, filed 2005-03, 62,000 miles

“1. Initially, the remote door lock for driver side door started making a buzzing noise, but it still worked. 2. The interior door handle lever (plastic with a hard plastic coating) to the driver's door broke off..and caused several cuts to my hand...but...it was still possible to open the door by applying pressure to the stub of the lever. 3. The remote door entry lock (to the driver door) stopped working, but it was still possible to lock and unlock the door with the key. 4. …”

NHTSA complaint #10253124, filed 2008-12, 60,000 miles

“2001 Honda crv does not meet the safety standards for properly installing my booster car seats as it is missing the latch anchoring system to properly hook the booster seat. After talking to the Honda dealer which told me that the car should have come with it, I took it to the dealer to show me where it was and said that they don't know why my car does not have the latch.”

NHTSA complaint #10503350, filed 2013-03

“The contact owns a 2001 Honda CR-V. The contact stated the drivers side door failed to unlock. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.”
