“When we were reversing the car brakes stopped responding. The car wouldn't turn off and it kept rolling backwards so we had to use the emergency brakes. We put it into drive and the car still rolled backwards and the brakes wouldn't respond.”
NHTSA complaint #11181983, filed 2019-02, 20,000 miles“My feet get tangled between the brake and gas. I had unintended acceleration due to this problem. The car idle is set at 5mph once you take your foot off the brake the car assumes you are going forward and does seek to go 5 MPH no matter your intentions. The brake and the gas are only 2.5 inches apart. When trying to brake my foot was pinned under the brake pedal and causing the car to go 5 miles per hour. I have avoided any number of untended crashes due to this problem.”

After the vehicle drifted across several lanes, it hydroplaned, spinning several times. At no point did any of the vehicle's many automated stability features activate, including ABS. Had I collided with another vehicle I likely would not have survived. I was lucky instead to wreck in a ditch, at which point the vehicle returned control of the wheel and brakes, but still the ABS did not seem to activate. …”
NHTSA complaint #11372292, filed 2020-10, 38,000 miles“My back breaks (pad and rotors0 need replacing at 35,000 miles. Noise started and made appt. For two days later. Auto master where I purchased the care said I was lucky I got 35k out of them, they have seen them go around 22k. I have never had breaks go on a vehicle at 35k. I have read many other people complaining about this problem on their crvs. Replacement cost from dealer is outrageous. And the dealership could have cared less that I only got 35k out of the breaks. This will be last vehicle purchased from them and the last Honda. …”
NHTSA complaint #11217573, filed 2019-06, 35,400 miles“I bought Honda crv 2016 on august 2016, but in october 2017, I figured out the there is corrosion on right rear caliper, and I afraid that can cause malfunction for the brake. So I went to the dealer, they said that is the poor quality of the Honda crv, the corrosion is normal, and refused to do any repaired. Please see attached picture. I only use my Honda crv to go to the church, supermarket that near my house, the mileage only 1097 miles when I reported this problem to the dealer, and I usually park my car in the public city street, in queens, ny.”
