“I was pulling into a parking space at church. I had my foot lightly on the brake as the idle speed was sufficient to enter the parking space. When I pressed on the brake to stop the car completely the brakes failed and the car lurched forward about 10 ft and hit the church building damaging my front left bumper, buckling the hood and components behind the bumper.”
NHTSA complaint #11745603, filed 2026-06“Braking occurs absolutely randomly. This happened about 6-7 times starting from about 5500 miles, at absolutely different speeds. I slow down to reduce speed, then the system starts warning with a BRAKE signal and after that suddenly stops, to a complete stop, although this is absolutely not necessary, because the front car is very far. I was hit in the bumper once. I have a video of how it did it on the highway. …”
NHTSA complaint #11607358, filed 2024-08“My Honda CRV has braked by itself when I am driving, even when theres nothing iin front of me. The break warning signal also pops up for no reason This has happened many times, and I have my kids in the car. The dealer told me they can’t find anything, but the problem keeps happening. I am scared this will cause a crash. Especially having my 2 year old and 3 month old i get scared to drive it --- If you want it even shorter or more personal, I can rewrite it again.”
NHTSA complaint #11712317, filed 2026-01“I was pulling into my son's driveway to park, and my vehicle did not stop when using the brakes. I struck the rear of his vehicle parked in the driveway. When put in reverse, my vehicle would not stop when using the brakes. My vehicle crossed the street, hit a tree, and eventually stopped when it hit a house. A video of the incident was caught on my son's ring door camera. I will submit screen shots of the video since the ability to submit a video is not an option.”
NHTSA complaint #11723353, filed 2026-03“I have taken the vehicle to dealership twice and told there was nothing wrong with the car. On three occasions the car has shut off when I stop and will re-engage but lurches and makes a crunching sound upon accelerating.”
