“Driving using cruise control on interstate. Car in front of me exited. My car began to slow even though there was nothing in front of me but a slight incline. I pressed on the accelerator and the car continued to slow. I turned off the A/C and cruise, but the car continued to slow and came to a complete stop on the interstate. There was a semi-truck behind me. Cars were passing me. I put the car in park and turned off the car. I started the car back up and drove away. …”
NHTSA complaint #11735406, filed 2026-05“It only happens when I have the car in cruise control mode. The car dramatically slows down for no apparent reason. It has happened 3-4 times in the 3300 miles I have driven the car. It may be related to changing lanes while on cruise control.”
NHTSA complaint #11583655, filed 2024-04“I have experienced several instances where the car accelerates for a few seconds even after l let go the accelerator pedal. I will select the most recent date as I experience this almost once everyday”
NHTSA complaint #11628769, filed 2024-12“I have had to go to Honda numerous times for the same thing. They are chalking it up to its a CVT engine. It seems to incur after going in reverse and other times it just starts sounding louder in its spin and the rpm is not at normal intervals because it’s almost like a gear shifting mode like it’s stuck in low gear. Also when it becomes sluggish it feels like an engine part is spinning on air versus using gas and oil. Like if the engine is going to shut off mode as I try accelerating and then cars are passing me by. …”
NHTSA complaint #11693796, filed 2025-10“Driving a Honda 2024 crv hybrid ,I was pulling into a front row parking spot and braking and as the car just about was going to stop it surged forward turning in the direction I had just pulled in from and accelerated instead of continuing to brake . I kept my foot on the brake hoping it was stopping , but continued to accelerate running over a sign, then a light post and then through the plate glass frame of the building . Finally coming to rest as it fully entered the building . The vehicle then emitted some smoke from underneath and the building was evacuated. …”
