“On 4 nov 06 at approximately 1128 my vehicle was involved with a front impact crash and the following safety defects occurred causing personal injury. The details of the incident are as follows: weather: clear road conditions: dry level grade speed: approx 35 MPH vehicle was traveling down 2 lane secondary road when another vehicle pulled in front of it. My vehicle impacted the other one in the left rear quadrant. The damage to my Odyssey was directly on the front grill and bumper area. …”

NHTSA complaint #10178006, filed 2007-01, 12,884 miles

“Seat belt defect: when our 2006 Honda Odyssey was rear-ended, the rear seat child occupant was ejected out of his seat and sustained injuries. The occupants seatbelt released on it's own upon impact. It is inconclusive whether the seatbelt malfunction contributed to the child's whip lash injuries.”

NHTSA complaint #10371211, filed 2010-12, 85,000 miles

“My passenger doors stopped opening by button and handle, turning signals, brights, dash signals, windshield wipers, door locks, horn. All stop working whenever the car feels like it and more then a couple don't work at same time. Driver side passenger seatbelt doesnt stay tight for my daughters car seat abd unable to use other seat as that door doesnt work at all anymore. The steering is also very difficult when turning into a parking spot to the point that I have to use all strength from both arms to pull the wheel into the direction I need the car to go”

NHTSA complaint #11319667, filed 2020-03

“One of the seat belts for the middle seat does not have a standard release button. Instead, you have to try to use the metal clip piece or a key or other rigid thing item to release the belt. I always thought of this as an annoying design, but did not realize how dangerous this was until my daughter got it wrapped around her neck. The seat belt was locked in the ceiling and retracting tighter as she struggled. She is fine and I got her out without any real damage, but this is an incredibly dangerous design and should not be allowed as some other child may not be as lucky. …”

NHTSA complaint #10920179, filed 2016-10

“My daughter, hannah (age 2 years, 3 months was sitting in the car seat behind driver in the 2006 Honda Odyssey. We have the 8 seat model. She took the seat belt from the center row middle seat and twisted it around her neck. I realized this when we got to a friend's house. When she moved her head or I tried to loosen the belt it got tighter. My friend had to come out with a scissor and we had to cut the belt. The problem was that the seat belt for the center seat in the middle row came down from the ceiling, and was very easy for a young child sitting in a car seat to reach over and grab it.”
