“I was traveling on the freeway when I got a warning saying “check electrical.”i started to pull over on the freeway and my car went into “turtle mode “and I made it off the offramp but almost got rear ended. I was half a mile from home so I limp home in a tow truck towed off. It was determined it is the ICCU.”

NHTSA complaint #11719583, filed 2026-02

“While driving on the highway during a rainstorm, the high voltage fuse on my car's Internal Charge Control Unit blew and the ICCU itself failed. This rendered the vehicle inoperable as soon as I managed to get it to the shoulder. It took two weeks to repair, and I had to argue with Hyundai's corporate lines for almost six months before the offered a partial reimbursement for their device failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11718532, filed 2026-02

“The ICCU component failed. I lost propulsion while driving and almost got rear ended. The dealership service department confirmed the ICCU issue. The dealership service department has inspected the vehicle. I had a dead 12v a month prior that I had asked the service department to look at and test the ICCU. They did not test the ICCU. The car warned me 30 seconds maybe less before i lost propulsion.”

NHTSA complaint #11714329, filed 2026-01

“I received a warning on my dashboard while driving Check electric vehicle system . A few minutes later I received the message Stop vehicle and check power supply . My car would not go faster than 20 MPH, and I had it towed to the dealership. They said it was an ICCU issue and the part was on nationwide backorder. My car has been at the dealership for 41 days.”

NHTSA complaint #11527692, filed 2023-06

“Was pulling out of drive way. Loud pop heard in the car. Immediately car flashed warning telling me electrical system had an issue and I needed to pull over and have the car towed to a dealer for service. Was told the part was related to the iccu and would take a couple days to arrive. Part is now on back order. 3 weeks later I am still waiting with little to no update on timeline for repair.”
