“On october 18, 2019 my fuel pump broke it happened at a plaza parked and then on february 10, 2019 was involved in a car crash due to a ball joint from the front end passenger side. My ball joint broke and everything else detached it happened on the highway I was with my kids and thank god I didn't crash into a car but it was a very scary traumatic moment for all of us. I keep replacing the inner and outer tie rod, also the ball joint and now it makes sense why, it has to do with the control arm. …”

“I want to create a safety recall on this vehicle if not other makes and models from this manufacturer. This vehicle is a fire hazard due to chronic corrosion on the fuel lines. It is also a safety hazard due to loss of brakes and steering due to chronic corrosion of the brake and power steering lines. Our 2007 Hyundai Sonata needed power steering fluid and brake fluid on a regular basis. Most recently we lost brakes and had the car inspected. The inspection determined that the power steering lines, brake lines and fuel lines are severely corroded and all leaking. …”

NHTSA complaint #11297877, filed 2020-01, 120,000 miles

“Entering the car the interior smelled of gasoline. I drove the car a few miles and once stopped, I could smell the strong odor of gasoline outside of the vehicle. Looking underneath, I saw gasoline dripping to the ground from the front area of the gasoline tank. The car was driven to a mechanic and repaired. The part that failed was from the gasoline line and has a rounded right angle bend in it. Total overall length, including the bend is approx 7 inches. The line had rusted through allowing gasoline to escape the line. The failed part could easily have lead to a fire or catastrophic event.”
