2007: “My vehicle would no longer accelerate in traffic causing me to almost get hit in the rear of the vehicle. I could do nothing but coast and brake. All gears became highlighted which were not previously. I am worried if this continues to happen I will be in an accident. This seems to be a common encounter among Jeep owners but there is no recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10956759, filed 2017-02, 145,000 miles2009: “Driving down a residential street and all of a sudden my airbag light comes on and makes a chime noise. Now it does it off and on the whole time it is being driven. Also if your sitting steal and you turn the steering wheel it will do it as well. I'm thinking it may be due to the clockspring.”
NHTSA complaint #11235307, filed 2019-07, 126,000 miles2008: “I was driving down the road and the vehicle lost power. I was able to move to the shoulder and bring the vehicle to a stop. There was no power to any system. The ignition switch was in the off position. I was able to restart the vehicle. This is not the first time the vehicle has lost power while driving.”
