“Was accelerating to pass another vehicle and all of the sudden the the check engine light came on and the engine started shaking as if it were shutting down. I was able to slow down and pull over on the side of the road. Now I am unable to accelerate over about 30 mph without this occurring.”

NHTSA complaint #11674891, filed 2025-07

“My vehicle was experiencing the exact same HVAC/AC issues described in Customer Satisfaction Notification Z33 for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Although the campaign specifically lists my make, model, and year, Stellantis claims my VIN is not covered. I was forced to pay $175 for the same repair listed in the Z33 document (HVAC module flash, Labor Code 18-Z3-31-82), and this should have been covered. Stellantis is refusing reimbursement even though the issue and fix are identical.”

NHTSA complaint #11668070, filed 2025-06

“I was driving my vehicle home after a nearby out of town errand. I was on US-95 between Potlatch ID and Moscow ID which is a very hilly, curvy 2-lane 60mph highway with little to no cell service. As I ascended my first big hill, my engine light came on flashing and the ride became noticeably bumpy. I could not call anyone for many miles yet, so I put on my safety hazards and continued driving, hoping to make it to town. With each hill my car became more unstable and seemed to be struggling to accelerate. …”

NHTSA complaint #11720408, filed 2026-02

“2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I was idling at a light, which means the engine had auto-shut off. The light turned green and I stepped on the accelerator. Car kicked back on like normal and I got back up to speed ~45 mph. So now I'm about 1/4 mile past the light and I hear the engine kick off and lost all acceleration (everything else was normal). Warning popped up on the dash that vehicle is not in park . I put on my hazards, braked to a stop, put the vehicle in park (nothing happened), hit the push button to turn the vehicle off, waited 2 seconds, hit the button again to turn it back on. …”

NHTSA complaint #11668585, filed 2025-06

“Jeep grand Cherokee L, the 3.7L V6 engine in the Jeep has experienced camshaft and valvetrain issues, often related to wear and lubrication problems. Sides a ticking and rough running/banging engine. Caused by faulty camshafts. The company knows the cam shafts are faulty, in Michigan the part is on back order by over 10,000 parts. …”
