“Chrysler is not honoring /repairing their recalls. I have emission/safety recalls on my vehicle that potentially cause a fire, explosion to not only the owner of the vehicle but to its occupants to include transit. Chrysler has ignored the facts that these recalls but be repaired.”
NHTSA complaint #10779002, filed 2015-10, 120,000 miles“My 1990 Jeep Wrangler was parked in my driveway. The emergency parking brake released on its own causing the vehicle to roll down the driveway striking another vehicle parked at the end of the driveway. Damage was caused to both vehicles. I was later notified by mail of a recall on the parking brake. I would like to have the parking brake fixed by terms of the recall and damage to my vehicle at the manufacturers expense.”
NHTSA complaint #10010452, filed 2003-03, 209,000 miles“Recall 617 was not replaced. E brake cables not replaced. Did not replace both front brake calipers. I had to get, two new differentials and clutch in less than a year. With the new recalls listed in the paper what about my gas tank? This is another safety measure to keep my vehicle safe on the road.”
NHTSA complaint #10744164, filed 2015-07“The contact owns a 1990 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a mechanic for routine maintenance. Upon inspection, it was determined that the parking brake pedal assembly was not functioning. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 02v041000 (parking brake). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.”
NHTSA complaint #10787930, filed 2015-11, 57,000 miles“Parking brake not fixed yet took to a mechanic and they adjusted and it still releases itself sometimes. Out of the six complaints I have listed I would like to know if the repairs will be covered even though I bought my car off of an independent car dealer with no warranty. I bought the Jeep as is and I had read in haynes automotive repair manual that because of a federally mandated extended warranty which covers emissions-related components such as the catalytic converter, check with a dealer service department before replacing the converter at your own expense. …”
