“The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler failed at approximately 100,000 miles, causing a complete loss of ABS functionality. The component remains installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. This failure significantly impacted my safety and the safety of others, as it compromised braking performance, making the vehicle more difficult to control during sudden stops or slippery road conditions. …”

NHTSA complaint #11652512, filed 2025-04, 100,000 miles

“Saturday morning at approximately 10:45 a.m. Driving 4.9 miles to destination I asked as we were approaching parking do you smell smoke? I hit the breaks but there was no breaks. And then a combustion of flames came from wheel wells and hood of Jeep. We all jumped out and called 911 and tried to put fire of Jeep out with extinguishers. With no success. Fire department put fire out.”

NHTSA complaint #11206406, filed 2019-05, 49 miles

“As I was driving 55 miles an hour, the ABS light on the dash came on and the car light with the swerving lines behind it on the dash, my brakes locked up almost causing me to crash, finally got it on side of the road, restarted it and the lights are still lit up and brakes still locked up, have to call a wrecker for a tow, and I have approximately only 50,000 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #11021590, filed 2017-09, 50,000 miles

“While slowing to a stop from very low speed, on a paved city street, the brakes failed. Pedal was all the way to the floor, and seemed as if the Jeep accelerated slightly, and the ABS was possibly activating and releasing? Causing minor damage traffic collision with stopped car in front of me. I am a retired traffic accident investigator, and was not distracted, I could not recreate the same malfunction after the collision.”

NHTSA complaint #11323619, filed 2020-05, 40,000 miles
