“Takata recall. 6 months after being informed of the recall my airbag still hasn't been replaced. But my local Jeep dealer would be perfectly happy to sell me a brand new Jeep with a brand new airbag. Why are companies allowed to continue producing new vehicles before fixing a safety recall for existing customers? I want my vehicle fixed and safe!”

NHTSA complaint #10944550, filed 2017-01, 50,000 miles

“The airbag light started coming on and off and sounding a chime as the steering wheel is turned about a year ago. Now it stays on all the time. There is a recall for the clockspring but it doesn't apply to my vehicle which I don't understand as it obviously has the problem. I understand my airbag won't work in this condition and is a safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10873000, filed 2016-06, 100,000 miles

“The airbag light comes on intermittently when the vehicle is in motion. I've been told that the clock spring is what is causing it. This same part has been recalled on the rhd vehicle but not the lhd. Ive been told that this could cause the airbags to not deploy in the event of a crash. I also see this is becoming a very common problem on this year model”

NHTSA complaint #10839972, filed 2016-03, 80,000 miles

“The air bag warning light since the first occurrence has continued to illuminate and the associated chime has sounded since the first time on july 3, 2015. I first though it was speed sensitive, but later discovered it happens when the steering wheel is turned. I then too it to my mechanic and was informed it was the drivers side clock spring. ...updated 09/22/15”
