“Driving home from work - roughly 30 miles per hour when suddenly my Jeep pulled hard to the right. I had no control, bounced off a phone pole and my airbag went off. It felt as if something in the undercarriage simply gave out. I have now been without a vehicle for 6 weeks.”
NHTSA complaint #11130246, filed 2018-09, 4,200 miles“I swerved to miss a deer.I ran off a big drop off&hit on mainly the driver's side.there was over $26k damage repairs done.they have decided to total my Jeep with a little over 36k miles.I ran off the raid&hit on mainly the driver's side.my air bags never deployed but most importantly my seat belt did not prevent me from hitting my face on the steering wheel.I have a gash above my right eye that the emts advised me to go to a hospital to have stitches.butbwith the covid-19 epidemic fully in force I decided not to go to the next county for medical.assitance since my local hospital is not…”
NHTSA complaint #11339843, filed 2020-07, 36,000 miles“The wiring going to the steering column keeps shorting out making it so the horn, steering wheel electrical buttons and likely airbag stop working. The dealer says it is the clock spring. It has been going on since purchased with 12000 miles and replaced twice. At 22000 miles the dealer cannot keep it functional. I'm concerned that the lack of functional safety equipment could lead to injury or death. This also leads to loss of value if the manufacturer cannot provide a solution.”
NHTSA complaint #11361421, filed 2020-09, 12,000 miles“Service Air Bag warning light comes on intermittently. Dealer wants me to drive car for 3 weeks before fixing or even looking at vehicle. From my research this has happened with many Jeeps. The vehicle has only 13,000 miles on it. I do not know whether my air bags will work in an accident or not.”
NHTSA complaint #11431486, filed 2021-09“This is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2018 JKU RHD and this vehicle starting to get the airbag light on and off in the dash! I brought it to a dealer to read it and they said the code is the B1B02 that means the clock spring is going out and it wasnt safe to drive it because the air bag will not deploy. Looking for all the info about it, i found out they have a recall is some Specific years but why it is not a recall in the 2018 model when it is showing up the same symptoms and problems than the recalled years?”
