“Jeep is spitting back fuel during fill up. Chrysler is telling me that my Jeep is not covered under the extended warranty that other 2008 Jeep wranglers have now been given. I have videos of this spitback happening. (inlet check valve defect) one dealer said it was covered but chrysler says no. Have been trying to get chrysler to repair it for 2 years now.”

NHTSA complaint #10939191, filed 2017-01, 50,000 miles

“Car at random will not start, lights will not work or radio will stop working ... Check engine light stays on without any engine issues ... To pump fuel it takes 20 minutes to fill it up you can't walk away or it will over flow ... Jeep left me sit the other day and no garage can tell me whats wrong with it... Its not the starter ...”

NHTSA complaint #10971897, filed 2017-04, 6 miles

“Purchased this Jeep in 2010. Every since I purchased it, the gas spills out from the tank when I fill it up, unless I squeeze the gas nozzle very slowly and carefully. When the gas spills out, it goes on my clothing, the Jeep, and onto the ground. This is a health problem, a safety issue, and an environmental issue. Jeep should fix this for free!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10927055, filed 2016-11, 9,500 miles

“When filling the fuel tank at the gas station if gas pump is on high fuel backsplashes on the vehicle and onto the ground. This is a common problem amongst many Jeep Wrangler owners. Dealership denies any problem. You ask below when did this happen well I will list one date but it happens 50% of the time when filling the Jeep up. I bought the Jeep in 2011 with 40,000 miles on it and has been doing it ever since.”

NHTSA complaint #11132379, filed 2018-09, 40,000 miles

“Gas overspills from the tank. Does not automatically stop when filling causing gas to splash on the owner, vehicle, and ground. Happens every time we attempt to fill the truck unless we manually stop entering gas before it's full.”

NHTSA complaint #11398079, filed 2021-02, 74,000 miles
