“When I fill-up my gas tank, the pump does not shut off properly and gas overflows tank, spilling onto rear quarter panel, bumper, and ground surface. At time of fill-up, vehicle is stationary, parking break on, and engine off. This occurs practically every time I fill up gas tank, and occurs at different gas stations. Hence, this problem is not caused by the gas station pumps, and appears to be caused by my vehicle not shutting off pump before gas overflows tank. …”

NHTSA complaint #11080818, filed 2018-03, 79,500 miles

“Under hard acceleration, like passing a car on the highway, the vehicle goes into limp mode which has nearly caused me to wreck 4 to 5 times due to being unable to accelerate. Once I pull of the road and restart limp mode goes away but the engine light stays on. The dealership says that the wiring harness is the issue. The vehicle has codes popping up about torque management. I would like for this to be fixed free of charge due to the wiring harnesses being an integral part if this vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11282683, filed 2019-11, 91,000 miles

“We use this Jeep only for highway travel. It has 48,000 miles. On our way to church, yes unbelievably we had a strong smell of 'gasoline' once we arrived back home there was a steady stream of gasoline running down the bell housing of the transmission to the ground, this was in an area about underneath the front seats or near the rear of the engine. This leak occurred only while the Jeep was idling. Once we turned the engine off, the gasoline stopped leaking or running down the bell housing. …”

NHTSA complaint #11281063, filed 2019-11, 47,500 miles

“When you fill the gas tank, there is always a spill over of gas that comes out. I have researched this and it is a very common issue with Jeep owners. Please force a recall. It is very dangerous to have fuel all over the side of the car and on the floor every time I fill up for gas.”

NHTSA complaint #10510102, filed 2013-04, 3,000 miles

“Vehicle stalled while in motion on a highway. This has been a consistent issue for the last several years. I believe it first occurred in 2016. The vehicle will just stall on a city street, in a residential area, or even on the highway. Fuel was not related as it has happened on a full tank of gas or a quarter tank. It was taken to the Jeep dealership on multiple occasions (that has been documented) because of this dangerous hazard, and they were not able to replicate so it was never fixed. I even showed them video evidence 3 times. …”
