“I am reporting a recurring loss/reduction of expected electric propulsion in my 2025 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe after FCA Safety Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 was completed. Before 68C, I routinely drove my normal route, including sustained uphill/high-load portions, in Electric mode for the full trip to/from & expending the full battery capacity. After the recall software update, electric propulsion frequently is sluggish with no acceleration. …”
NHTSA complaint #11770231, filed 2026-10“My vehicle has an ongoing serious problem when in electric mode. As the battery level falls below 50% the vehicle’s fails to accelerate properly. While on the highway this causes the vehicle to reduce speed and endangers me and my family as you cannot keep up with the flow of traffic when merging or changing lanes. There are also some issues when starting the vehicle it sometimes skips the warmup cycle and idles extremely high from a cold start.”
NHTSA complaint #11765180, filed 2026-09“I was driving vehicle on interstate when sudden loss of power took place. I immediately pulled off the road and we smelled smoke. Fire was coming out of engine compartment near passenger wheel. We immediately exited the vehicle and assisted our young children out of the back seat. Within seconds the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. If we were not able to immediately pull off the road and assist our children, we could have all been severely injured or killed.”
NHTSA complaint #11738566, filed 2026-05“On June 1, 2026, software update 68C was performed at the dealership on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. On June 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., after driving the vehicle for about 25 minutes, I experienced a serious malfunction. While making a turn at a speed of less than 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly and without warning lost throttle and propulsion. It appeared to hesitate as though shifting between electric and gasoline power, and then abruptly and erratically lurched forward, accelerating to what felt like maximum speed. …”
NHTSA complaint #11742673, filed 2026-06“I was driving the Jeep on Route 35 in NJ when all of a sudden, the car lost power, jerked forward thrusting be towards the windshield. The D on the gear shift started blinking and the check engine light went on. The dashboard message indicated something along the lines that I had to put the car in parking P . The car behind me beeped and almost rear ended me as it's a fast road and my car slowed dramatically and unexpectedly. Ultimately, I was able to glide into a parking lot on the side street and called the tow truck. …”
