“Bonded intrusion bar separated from door skin. Separation causes rubbing/chaffing/noise when door is operated and was what alerted me to the presence of the issue. Taken to dealership and was told the door must be replaced in order to fix the issue. This exact same issue happened in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler rubicon and they replaced the front two doors on my Jeep. Fca has clearly not corrected this design issue, and I am concerned that it leads to a weakened structural integrity/safety feature of the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11296938, filed 2020-01, 5,000 miles

“Test drove a 2020 Jeep sahara on 8/7/2020 and drove good. Bought a white one but was not ready so it was going to get delivered the next day at my house. White 2020 Jeep sahara was delivered on 8/8/2020 at around 12:00 pm. Salesman showed all features and left. I did a test drive around 5:00pm, wen on the highway and steering was really off, did a turn around to come back home. At 55 pmh I tried to change lanes and I I lost control and ended up in a ditch. Steeting was very loose going left to right and right to left. …”

NHTSA complaint #11343998, filed 2020-08, 40 miles

“Aluminum body and paint bubbling and showing corrosion on doors, hood, and hinges. I called jeep but they are saying that the issue is only on the Gladiator, which is not accurate. It's also on the Wrangler Sport that I have, and they don't want to fix it. What do I do?”

NHTSA complaint #11592616, filed 2024-06

“I am reporting significant premature rust on my 2020 Jeep wrangler. The rust is visible on all four doors and the hood. The vehicle has been properly maintained, regularly washed, and has not been exposed to unusual or extreme environmental conditions that would justify this level of corrosion. The rust appears along the bottom edges and seams of each door, as well as along the leading edge of the hood. These areas show bubbling paint and visible oxidation, which is spreading. …”

NHTSA complaint #11679409, filed 2025-08

“At approximately 58,000 miles I discovered that the rear upper coil spring mounts on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Rubicon are separating from the frame. The factory welds attaching the upper coil perches to the frame rails have cracked and torn, and the mounts are no longer securely attached. I found this condition only incidentally, while inspecting the vehicle for a separate ongoing steering issue. The coil mount separation was not what I was looking for, and I would not have found it otherwise. These mounts carry the rear vehicle load. …”
