“Takata recall - manufacturer has stonewalled and slow walked a resolution to replacement of the potentially deadly and dangerous takata airbags. Consequently, I do not allow my wife and family to drive this car fearful of the implications of airbag deployment. The car basically sits in my garage and has low miles. Mercedes communicated a solution in february 2018 via the attached correspondence but has failed to remedy the issue. I'm stuck with this car since its trade-in value is negatively affected until the airbag is replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #11209942, filed 2019-05, 22,000 miles

“Accident in which vehicle will be totaled. No air bags deployed. Hit a pole on center divider. Mercedes roadside was on scene in minutes and towed my car. They said the system alerted them to the crash.”

NHTSA complaint #11203842, filed 2019-04, 79,000 miles

“Takata recall the recall on my air bag has been going on since jan 2019 and the part still isn't in. It says if the airbags deploy, metal fragments can fly out and kill the person, this is serious business and should be taken care of asap! It didn't happen yet but I want a push to get this recall completed before someone gets hurt.”

NHTSA complaint #11232062, filed 2019-07

“Open recall without a remedy. This is a daily safety hazard as I am forced to operate my vehicle without a remedy. Being my car is a coupe provides another inconvenience. Even if I place passangervinto back seat, the recall states that any occupant could experience death or serious injury if the air bag deploys. I am uncomfortable driving my vehicle with no solution. This is unacceptable.”

NHTSA complaint #11165084, filed 2019-01

“The recall started injanuary of 2016. We are now midway through 2018. I would like to purchase a new car but because of the recall I've been told the dealer can't resell the car. They can only take it to auction. Now my trade in value is less. I've called mercedes and was told they have no idea when the airbag will be in.”
