At this point the engine accelerated as the gas pedel was totally depressed. The car continued accelerating. The car fishtailed causing the car to severe a telephone pole and a stop sign on the end of that street. The car was totalled. I was not cited by the police.”

I placed in park and attempted to restart the car several times before it started.I called petro Nissan and they said it sounded as if the cam or drive sensor was going out. I drove cautiously to the nearest Nissan dealer(mossey) in houston. They did diagnostics on it but could not find the cause. …”

NHTSA complaint #10579517, filed 2014-04, 102,000 miles

“While driving down the expressway, all the warning lights on the dashboard lit up and the speedometer dropped to zero. I coasted and pulled off the side of the road, turning off the vehicle. I then restarted the vehicle and proceeded to drive off, only to experience this same problem several more times. It is currently at our mechanic's, but they are having difficulty troubleshooting the problem. This problem initially happened while my wife was driving home from work. She explained the problem, I took the vehicle out for a drive and it did the same thing.”

NHTSA complaint #10662551, filed 2014-12, 72,000 miles

“I was driving on the interstate and I put the car in cruise control. The car comes off cruise control and I enter it into cruise control again. The same results happen. Then I notice my RPM accelerating and my MPH decelerating. I knew I had to pull my vehicle over to the side of the road immediately. As I'm switching lanes my car starts to smoke profusely and I say small flames from the front of the vehicle. Nissan affairs refuses to fix my vehicle because it is exactly 1, 918 miles outside of the warranty. Although, my transmission blew prematurely.”
