“I was driving down the highway. There were no warning lights on my dashboard aside from the TPMS light. There was a loud pop noise, so I pulled over to check it out. Within 30 seconds smoke came from under the hood and quickly turned from white to black. Then the vehicle caught on fire. It was completely burned with nothing but the trunk left in tact.”

NHTSA complaint #11251938, filed 2019-08, 94,000 miles

“My Murano loses power while stopped or upon acceleration from a stopped position. All my vehicle lights inside and out flicker and flash. Theses lights include dome, dash, radio, outside lights headlights, park lights, brake lights. I've taken it to the dealer for diagnostic and they always say it's the battery. I've had 5 Nissan batteries in 5 years. I've had the alternator replaced with no relief for the electrical problems”

NHTSA complaint #11312188, filed 2020-02, 55,000 miles

“My Nissan Murano 2009 died as I was driving on expressway, very scary , everything just stopped , says battery and alternator , replace twice because it happened yet again within a cpl of days, so now the brake light and battery light are on , on my dashboard and 3 weeks without my car and no idea ! I have been on numerous forums with no solution but yet the same complaint , is Nissan going to fix this ,”

NHTSA complaint #11099533, filed 2018-06, 150,000 miles

“The transmission went out without a warning light or service engine soon light. I was in the middle of traffic and if stopped. I was driving 25 MPH in a suburb going straight. When I heard a loud buzzing sound and boom no more acceleration. This is dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11180425, filed 2019-02, 157,400 miles

“I was driving the car and stopped at a red light. When I hit the gas to go when the light turned green the car would not go. It took about 20 seconds before it would go and when it did it acted like I had my foot on the gas pedal which I did not. It has done this numerous times. I replaced the fuel pump and took it to a mechanic twice. Nothing that has been done has fixed the problem. I have almost been rear ended several times due the fact that the car stalls.”
