“My vehicle air bag light came on took it to shop they will not fix it said the sensor in passenger seat needs replaced. I know there were recalls for this problem before but they tell me they only recalled certain 2009 Murano's but looking online this seems to be a problem with all nissans. So I am wondering will there be a recall with this Nissan problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10960213, filed 2017-03, 116,000 miles“My airbag light on the dash is flashing. Indicating that the airbag system maybe faulty Nissan wants $120. For a diagnostic test of the system. This car is a 2009 Murano and only 47,000. Miles no accident or anything to cause the light to go on. In all my years and cars I have never had a airbag light go on for no reason.”

The airbags however did not deploy and by the looks of the crash I feel like they should have.I was not hurt in the accident my car was stolen it was reported and recovered.”
NHTSA complaint #11302633, filed 2020-01, 127,000 miles“My car was t-bone hit from the passenger side while I was driving at 25 MPH on a side road with no passengers (thank god). The party at fault broke a stop sign and resulted in total loss of my car. Only the passenger side air bag deployed and protected no one. Strangely, the driver side air bag did not deploy. As a result I hit the passenger window glass with the side of my head and got a concussion.”
NHTSA complaint #10885368, filed 2016-07, 109,000 miles“Hit a deer going 35 MPH and deployed both front airbags. I was the passenger when my airbag went off it hit my face and fractured my maxilla, broke off one tooth and made another loose enough it had to be pulled out also. Split upper and lower lip both needing stitches. Do to the damage sustained and the airbags being deployed my insurance company found the car unrepairable and a total loss.”
