“I was driving on m52 and was going to attempt to pass a slow moving vehicle. I stabbed the accelerator pedal to pass and it stuck in this position. I cancelled my attempt to pass due to traffic and had to brake the vehicle. I was able to keep control but I had to pump the accelerator several times to get it to release. This is actually the second time this has happened with this vehicle. The first I was stuck in my yard in the snow. …”

NHTSA complaint #10705135, filed 2015-04, 64,000 miles

“Fuel gauge says empty when 100 miles are on the gas tank. My local Nissan dealer, elhart, told me they would have to charge me 5 hours of labor to remove the gas tank to diagnose the problem, even though the fuel guage sensors are accessible under the rear seat for replacement. Also, this is a very common problem with all nissans - quests do have a recall on it, but no other Nissan, even though they all use the same faulty gas guage. It causes panic to the driver to see the empty light on, & they call for help, swerve off the road, when they are really not empty at all. …”

NHTSA complaint #11083374, filed 2018-04, 75,000 miles

“I am the 'second' owner. The vehicle was gifted to me by my son. It passed the autocheck vehicle history report. I received the vehicle 5/11/13. Failure mileage is approximate. When starting engine huge amount of white smoke exits the 2 exhaust pipes engulfing entire vehicle. This happened continually every time I started engine. Contacted Nissan consumer affairs directly & was referred to dealership. My son spoke directly with dealership service department. The required 30,000 maintenance was performed. After 1 week dealership recommend new engine. …”

NHTSA complaint #10617534, filed 2014-07, 25,250 miles

“We owns a 2009 Nissan Murano. While starting the car, we noticed that the fuel gauge failed to display an accurate fuel level reading. The malfunction occurred whenever the vehicle was started or in motion or when AC was on prior to starting the car. After this issue the service engine soon light illuminated also. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated to us that fuel level sensors would need to be replaced. The authorized dealer mentioned other cars have had same problem and this model might be covered under a recall but it was not based on the VIN number. …”

NHTSA complaint #10461873, filed 2012-06, 67,000 miles

“Total loss of electrical power while driving. Engine dies lights go out vehicle rolls to a stop. Put vehicle in park and electrical power return with no further action. Please look in to this as my wife is now scared to drive her car at all. 2 occurrences in the past 2 weeks. No recalls shown but other years of this vehicle show same complaint. Of this”
