“I got this car from my daughter in may. This problem started in june, stopped for a while & now in winter (january) it came back & is getting worse to the point I won't drive on freeway anymore. Decelerates at freeway speeds combined with jerking motion. Also does not always accelerate (dogs out) while pressing on gas from complete stop or trying to accelerate in slow traffic causing cars behind to slam on brakes.”

NHTSA complaint #11066870, filed 2018-02, 114,000 miles

“I was traveling home from work and was on an incline trying to accelerate when the CVT transmission failed. The car started rolling backwards and I was just able to stop it before I was hit and caused a multi car pile up due to this failure. Luckily I wasn't traveling at a high rate of speed when this happened so no major incident occurred, this time, but it could happen.”

NHTSA complaint #10684202, filed 2015-02, 131,000 miles

“Driving over a rail road track the vehicle lost all power. The cable ass control to the transmission broke off. When we had notify Nissan of the part we needed, we were told that it would be a while before we could get this part that there were over 20 people ahead of us for this part. So I am writing to inform you of a safety issue. This could have created a very bad accident.”

NHTSA complaint #10690404, filed 2015-02, 130,000 miles

“I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue. Have had it less than a year. 3 days ago, without warning, the transmission started shaking and jerking when I was taking off from a red light on the way to take my daughter to school. Pulled off the highway and sat a couple mins, since I wasnt sure what was happening. As I tried to pull back onto the highway the Rogue wouldnt go. Had to have it towed back home. Had a technician put my vehicle on a computer. The transmission is out of it.”

NHTSA complaint #11306995, filed 2020-02, 130,000 miles

“Transmission safety issue - while driving on the highway my vehicle completely stopped pulling. We were in heavy traffic and my daughter was a passenger in the back seat. There was no warning before this happened, no warning lights at all! My daughter and I could have easily been seriously injured or killed.”
