“I was driving and the accelerator pedal got stuck and it started to increase my speed. I kept pressing on the pedal and it still was not working. I had to step on the brake pedal several times, like 5-6 times before the accelerator finally became unstuck.”
NHTSA complaint #11666182, filed 2025-06“While driving car will not let me accelerate and it hesitates while driving kind of a jerking if trying to accelerate. The AC blows hot air the check engine light is on I only had the car for two months purchased from dealership”
NHTSA complaint #11748324, filed 2026-07“I was driving my 2021 Nissan Rogue on the highway, returning from the airport after picking up a friend, when the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began jerking on acceleration. The vehicle lost power and would only move very slowly, leaving me traveling well below highway speed in active traffic. This created an extremely dangerous situation, as surrounding vehicles were approaching at full highway speed while my vehicle could not accelerate or maintain a safe speed. The vehicle also appeared to be running hot. …”
NHTSA complaint #11750688, filed 2026-07“Sometimes when I start driving, I press the pedal and the car accelerates and stays stuck in 1st gear. I'll press the pedal more and it doesn't go faster. I have to push the the shift to D (drive) again and then the car starts driving normal”
NHTSA complaint #11444760, filed 2021-12“Exiting a parking lot 6:45 pm 9/16/21, after braking and shifting gears from reverse to drive, the vehicle took off at top speed without my depressing the gas pedal. I negotiated a right turn with great difficulty because of high speed and pulled off to the side of the next block, braked hard, stopped, and turned off the engine. Each time I tried to restart the engine it roared into high speed (speedometer flew instantly to 140 mph) and the vehicle lurched forward without my touching the gas pedal. I repeated attempts at normal start several times; each time the roar and lurch recurred. …”
