“I had purchased my vehicle in december 2010. When I had purchased it, it seemed to have a barring problem, or a brake problem. It kept shaking, and making a thump-sound. It kept pulling, when I stepped on the brakes. About march 2011, I was driving on the highway, and all of a sudden, my car was shaking so much, that I had to pull over. It blew my entire rim and tire off. I got a tow truck and brought it to my mechanic, had to purchase a new tire and rim. …”
NHTSA complaint #10413358, filed 2011-07, 50 miles“The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. While depressing the brake pedal at 3 MPH, the vehicle would not stop. It dramatically accelerated and caused the contact to crash into another vehicle. A flashing red warning light was illuminated on the instrument control panel at the time of the failure. The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed to a dealer. The cause of the failure was unknown. The vehicle is currently being repaired. A police report was filed. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 27,672.”
NHTSA complaint #10226135, filed 2008-04, 27,672 miles“Rear passenger brake does not adjust correctly and over tightens. Wheel may become completely locked up. Brake pad shows most ware on top front portion of shoe that is applied by the parking brake mechanism. Since new car has always made chirping noises while applying the brake. All other brakes on car are still completely good except this one. There are other complaints on the internet expressing the same concern.”
