“Been driving the car and notice I was hearing a bad roaring noise soon I heard a loud pop in the back of the car and went to look at the drum on passenger side the adjusters screw had completely broke in peace 94k miles been doing this noise on and off and transmission has tendency to feel like it starts to really hesitate badly.”
NHTSA complaint #10969988, filed 2017-04, 90,000 miles“When driving approximately 30mph, I pushed my brake pedal to slow for my next turn. The pedal was slightly ineffective, meaning the pressure in the pedal was released and the brake did not halt my car in a safe timeframe. I had to release and press the brake pedal again to feel pressure in the brake system, and was able to slow just in time to make my next turn. This was definitely scary as I've never experienced brake failure before.”
NHTSA complaint #11337432, filed 2020-07, 69,434 miles“Brakes have unusually long pedal travel coming to a full stop. After coming to a full stop, additional pressure is required to keep the car from drifting forward. Incident happens repeatedly. We purchased the car used, with a rebuilt title. I had the brakes checked at a garage, and had the lines bled to make sure there was no air in the lines. There are no warning lights indicating a problem with the brakes.”
NHTSA complaint #11092212, filed 2018-05, 46,800 miles“I was in a parking lot when I pressed the brake pedal. The brake pedal went to the floor with no resistance. Also the car did not begin to stop. I had to pump the brakes in order to notice normal operation. This has happened 3 times. I am worried it will happen at a higher rate of speed causing a major accident due to inoperable brakes.”
NHTSA complaint #10648599, filed 2014-10, 9,500 miles“Around 8k my car started with a grinding noise when I would step on the brakes took it for service said the car needed brake fluid, now not even 3months later my car has the similar grinding noise on & off at times not when I step on the brake but when car is running will be taking it to service tomorrow.”
