“20013 Nissan Sentra with less than 75k miles. Making a left turn and heard a loud pop. Left front ball joint broke off the lower control arm causing the control arm to smash through the tire rim and rip out the axle from the transmission. My vehicle was traveling at less than 5 MPH (thank god!) I would not have reported this but I saw the same thing happened to another car. I jacked it up immediately and car was flatbedded to mechanic and control arms on both sides, ball joints and axle was replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #11269048, filed 2019-10, 73,000 miles

“I was backing out of a parking space and heard a pop, I was concerned so I pulled forward to see if I heard anything else. My car moved forward about a food and came to a grinding halt. My control arm disconnected from the wheel causing my wheel to slide into my wheel well and pull the axle out of place. Had I been driving at speed like some other folks I have heard of, I would be dead or injured seriously. When I confronted Nissan they said there's nothing we can do and we're absolutely rude in the service center. …”

NHTSA complaint #11244599, filed 2019-08, 115,000 miles

“While in motion the passenger side ball joint did break. This allowed the wheel to become non responsive and caused the drive axle to break. If the vehicle was going at highway speed at the time, there would have been a severe accident to say the least.”

NHTSA complaint #11315844, filed 2020-03, 90,000 miles

“I had to replace tbe tie rod and steering gear at 70,000 miles in nov 2017. I've just been told that the transmission needs to be replaced and I am only at 76,000 miles. T am in an active bankruptcy so I can't replace the car because the car dealership will approve me for a loan that has 18 percent interest. This is cost me a lot of stress. A lawsuit needs to be filed.”

NHTSA complaint #11082236, filed 2018-03

“When I reversed in a parking lot, the tire arm on my front passenger tire broke, causing my car to lean on the tire. I found oil on the ground after my car moved. It had to get towed to the NISSAN dealership in Lincoln, NE. Before I got towed, I talked to the police because the damage was so significant. The dealership said that the ball joint came off because of a missing screw. I had no warning from my car or the dealership that there was a prior issue, only a loud noise and the oil on the ground.”
