“I get in my car put the key in the ignition and start my car, I then put the car in drive and get going about 35/40 and the door locks start going up and down by them self. Later that day I open my door and get in my car without the key in the ignition and the door locks start to go up and down again on there own. I have contacted the dealership I purchased the car from and they tell me my VIN has no recalls. Really ??? This has been going on for a while with the back doors and now they all do it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10608621, filed 2014-07, 54,000 miles“The rear passenger door lock fails to open at times. Some days it will unlock, others it will not. Upon calling a few dealers I was told that it is the door lock actuator. As this is a safety feature, I feel it is a safety issue when it does not operate properly. I was also told it would cost ~$350 to fix. Again, I feel that this is a safety issue that GM should be made aware of. The only way to unlock that door is to get in the car and reach across and pull the lock up, pulling on the door handle does not pop the lock.”
NHTSA complaint #10598452, filed 2014-06, 74,000 miles“I bought my 2009 Pontiac G6 sedan brand new. I had problems with my car door locks within the first 6 months. My 3-year-old niece was in the back seat and both rear door locks actually locked open! So we weren't able to shut the doors and drive under safe conditions. I had to bungee-cord the doors locked and drive to the closest dealership. The locks had reset and the doors were able to close. Then in 2010, my driver side door locked shut on me! I wasn't able to get out of my car. After 2 hours the door locks reset. The same issue happened again to the rear door. …”
