“Engine stalled while driving at low speeds told me shift into park with no warning lights or messages at all. Got it started again and then stalled out again while I was trying to accelerate. I pulled over and it wouldn’t start right away but eventually I was able to get it started back up to drive it home. Could it be a software issue in the PCM”
NHTSA complaint #11707204, filed 2025-12“Truck for about the 6th time in 2 weeks, shut its self off while driving and slams into park. This has happened before and had to be towed to dodge because it wouldn’t restart. I told them what happened and they informed me it was low on fuel, that’s why it did it. But I was doing 60mph on a interstate and lost all power”
NHTSA complaint #11766527, filed 2026-09“While driving at low speeds twice now my ram 1500 has stalled and engaged the parking break. Once coming to a stop and another time making a turn onto a road. Once I turn the truck back on there is a battery light on the dash and I’m allowed to drive to a safe place and restart the truck and the battery light goes away. Very concerned for my safety due to living next to a busy road.”
NHTSA complaint #11729318, filed 2026-04“on 2 separate occasions, I experienced a low speed stall when pulling out and turning at intersections. After the stall, the vehicle placed itself in park and activated the emergency brake. In both instances, the stall occurred after I had partially entered an intersection, representing a safety hazard. In both instances, the vehicle was able to be restarted quickly.”
NHTSA complaint #11644723, filed 2025-02“Happens once in every 5 times. If I'm sitting still about to gas it to pull out into traffic the gas pedal does not react causing a massive delay that has almost got me in a few accidents. I've also been at an intersection, stop signs, traffic lights and parking decks moving slowly and the trucks Emergency Brake will automatically be applied.”
