Example complaints
Fuel system: “Takata recall I keep going through rectifiers, stators, fuses, fuel pumps, wiring, battery, starter and even a a used ecu plus a few other things all coming back to the rectifier missing everything up a few times a year and now again I'm gonna have to send my bike back out and pay for everything to get done again I'm kinda mad that I bought it instead of that 2000 hayabusa like I was going to.”
NHTSA complaint #11173426, filed 2019-01, 15,000 milesElectrical system: “I was going 70 down the highway when my bike shut off. Looked at the 30amp fuse under the seat and it was blown. Replaced it with the spare and it immediately blew. Trailered my bike back to my house and found the regulartor/rectifier sparking. This is a huge issue and should be a recall. Bike was driven normally with no racing/speeds over 80.”
NHTSA complaint #10884157, filed 2016-07, 20,000 milesEngine cooling: “2007 Suzuki GSXR750 problem began when bike was new from the showroom and continues to the present the problem is a rapid and abrupt throttle closing, and is often encountered when the motorcycle is at a cruising speed and the throttle is being maintained (the bike is just maintaining speed, not accelerating). Whenever the throttle is modulated to lessen the speed, the bike reacts as if the rider had just closed the throttle completely and the bike begins to engine brake, hard. …”
NHTSA complaint #10242896, filed 2008-09, 5 milesVehicle speed control: “Bike unexpectedly accelerates. No control. Happen at low speed after riding rough and bucking and coming out of a turn. It accelerated so fast it threw me off, took off and laid on its side red lining. No control and really scary. Throttle did not responded. This happened at a low RPM. Don't know if I trust the bike to even get back on (wont start now).”
