Example complaints

Other or unknown: “I was driving east on marshall ave. In longview texas, to super 1 grocery store, and turn left to park in front of the store. When I turned left the vehicle made a loud poping sound coming from sunroof area. It has been doing it every time I turn left or right as long as there is an uneven road surface that causes the front tires to be at a different elevation than rear tires. This position produces a twisting motion of the vehicle frame and that is when the roof poping is heard.”

NHTSA complaint #11152251, filed 2018-11, 44,200 miles

Brakes: “Bought car at the end of april 2017 and in aug 2018 started having a grinding noise every time I stepped on the break pedal. Took car to dealer and they told me it was normal to have that noise that wasn't there before. Spent 3 weeks trying to get Toyota to fix this issue. Car had 29k miles on it. Service technicians were extremely rude and kept on saying it was nothing and it with it. After finally getting them doing something on it the diagnosis was the ABS actuator needed to be replaced. This issue shouldn't happen at all when the car is only one year old and was still under warranty. …”

NHTSA complaint #11129348, filed 2018-09, 29,000 miles

Exterior lighting: “Right headlight will flicker on/off while driving at night. A simple tap to the headlight assembly will cause the headlight to start working again. After a few minutes of driving the headlight goes off again. Issue occurs while stationary and when the car is in motion.”

NHTSA complaint #11207239, filed 2019-05, 62,220 miles

Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors): “The contact owns a 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, during sunny or rainy weather conditions, the rearview camera image was not working as intended. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was advised that the failure may be related with a faulty light bulb; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,300. The VIN was not provided.”
