The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,500.”

NHTSA complaint #11287555, filed 2019-12, 4,500 miles

Other or unknown: “At least two weeks ago, Toyota updated its entune navigation software with a flawed system update that eliminated the voice command system for phones, navigation, etc. Toyota has failed to provide public notification of the problem and has to-date failed to come up with a solution to correcting the problem. This results in a safety problem, as Toyota customers can no longer place or make calls or seek directions verbally. All commands must be physically entered on the system or a smartphone resulting in a clear driver distraction and safety hazard.”
