“Crash on 8/4/07. Neither of our air bags deployed or shoulder straps on the seat belt worked. We were stopped for a vehicle making a left turn on a highway. There was a pick-up waiting in front of us. A driver failed to stop and rear-ended us. My husband's head went through the windshield. We both suffered injuries, that we are still being treated for.”

With this high impact the airbags did not deploy and the drivers seatbelt shoulder strap did not catch! Drivers head hit the windshield and both driver and passenger went to the emergency room! Both received neck and back sprains! Camry is a one owner car with 130,000 miles! Car was towed and damages are being accessed!”

Also the front and rear bumpers have changed color from the original color. I have noticed numerous other blue camrys with the same discoloration of front and rear bumepers.”

NHTSA complaint #10212025, filed 2007-12, 43,215 miles

“Dt: the contact stated the front seat belt straps gradually tightened while in use. She took the vehicle to a dealer, who could not determine what was causing this nor could he duplicate the problem. She purchased some safety clips for the seat belts. The clips did not correct the problem. She heard about a recall on a similar problem, but was not sure if this vehicle was included. No repairs have been made. Updated 11/16/2005.”

NHTSA complaint #10141114, filed 2005-10, 45 miles

“Car was rammed on the passenger side of my vehicle. The air bag did not deploy and my seat belt did not hold me back. I was thrown forward against the steering wheel and seriously injured, though not permanently. Both cars were totaled.”
