“I have a 2008 Camry se which I took in for the floormat and acceleration recalls. The car still accelerates when I first start it. I can drive up to 30 miles an hour with out applying gas. The dealer has worked on the car multiple times and can not solve the problem. Incident date is the last time it happened. It happens every time the car has sat for awhile.”

“At 60,000 I noticed my engine running low/ burning oil. I since had 2 oil changes, now at 66,600 miles, 2,400 since the last service, my dipstick is halfway between min and max it was at max after the last oil change. I have been in communication with bernardi Toyota in framingham ma who has been helpful however I am very concerned regarding my car starting to burn oil at a low mileage. I also plan to file a complaint with Toyota directly.”

NHTSA complaint #10453305, filed 2012-03, 60,000 miles

“New Camry hybrid, three days old, check engine light alerted us of a problem that proved to be an emission system manufacturer defect that required six days to complete. Dealer fixed the defect for free, but my interaction with the national Toyota customer service agency in california was unacceptable. This occurred in september 2008, though your pull-down menu does not include 2008 as an option.”

NHTSA complaint #10204320, filed 2007-09, 313 miles

“Engine is burning large amounts of oil between the scheduled oil change of 5000 miles. Oil in dipstick is dropping from full to empty within the 5000 miles oil change.”

NHTSA complaint #10454280, filed 2012-04, 48,000 miles

“Random, infrequent engine failure at freeway/highway speeds. At constant highway speeds (steady state speed), car engine dies out and car decelerates (without alert and for no reason). This car has always done this on an infrequent basis since purchased brand new. This happens about twice per month. I phoned the dealership and they said they have to see it/experience the problem. At around 41k miles I brought the car to Toyota for their inspection (this was prior to any recalls on camrys), they cleaned carbon from the engine. This did not stop the problem. …”
