“Starting monday afternoon (01/18/2021) my car has begun to stall everyday. It continues to stall now. Thursday (01/21/2021) I almost had a accident because my car would not go no matter how hard I pressed the gas. I took my car to the dealership were I am leasing it (01/21/2021) and they could not find the problem. I saw on the Toyota website that my car was apart of the fuel pump recall even though when I enter my VIN nothing popped up. May you please assist me? I have to work and I need my vehicle in order to do that.”

NHTSA complaint #11389667, filed 2021-01, 10,060 miles

“Gas tank filler neck made of partial plastic. Won't seal with gas pump nozzle. Must use two hands to pump gas. One hand holding handle while other hand must hold nozzle applying pressure to create a seal to pump gas. Something lucky able to set handle on auto fill, but very loose seal and would pop out with the lightest vibration and handle fall out of fill neck spilling a lot of gasoline on the ground. Happen at 3 different gas station. One time spilling gas on ground was with healy brand nozzle.”

NHTSA complaint #11299663, filed 2020-01, 17,000 miles

“I have only had the car for a year and a half, and I have already had to replace the battery which was less than 2 years old, all 4 tires (2 at 40000 miles and 2 at 48000), and now the engine wiring harness somehow got severed and has to be replaced which is almost $6k repair!”

NHTSA complaint #11497880, filed 2022-12

“after shortly pumping gas, I received a alert on my car that I needed to check my fuel cap, after checking fuel cap I proceeded to drive on the highway during this time a multitude of sensors started to go off on my car, and it started to drive weird there were light such as my interlock, being deactivated, parking, brake, deactivated, malfunction of VSC, collision deactivated. Then suddenly while driving at an accelerated speed, and trying to slow down, my engine turned itself off, and I was not able to re-crank my car. …”

NHTSA complaint #11657355, filed 2025-04

“I purchased my vehicle new in 2020. I am currently at 74,000 miles and noticed my engine maintenance required light come on although I received an oil change service two days prior. It’s a different message from the routine maintenance. I got it checked out at Toyota today and the “engine coolant bypass valve” needed to be replaced. When I looked into it I noticed the 2020 Camry and 2020 rav 4 were recalled for the issue and repaired for free. However my model Toyota Corolla was not recalled and I had to pay $700.82 to get it replaced at Toyota today.”
