“My Toyota Tacoma (2007) appears to qualify for the airbag recall but searching my VIN does not bring it up. The manufacturing facility, dates and VIN range all seem to match. How do I challenge this or appeal to have this corrected? The airbag light is constantly on I am told it will cost hundreds of dollars to fix the spiral spring. Please help!”
NHTSA complaint #11194788, filed 2019-04, 148,000 miles“Takata recall . I was in motion travel home on the highway when I ran off the road and hit a tree head on. The airbag part cut the left side of my chin. The er doctor said the hole was the size of two fifty cent pieces but together. And he could see the jaw muscles. The vehicle is total. I have a police accident report, insurance claim, medical expense and picture of the cut and the truck. I will need help with these photo and documentation to upload on the format.”
NHTSA complaint #11123368, filed 2018-08, 253,000 miles“I ran into the back of a truck who was completely stopped, and I was moving at approximately 35-40mph on impact. The impact was perfectly square into the front of my truck. The airbags did not deploy. I was wearing my seat belt, however I was still pushed into the steering wheel quite hard. Fortunately I sustained no major injurious, and only suffered minor aches and pains.”

NHTSA complaint #11170962, filed 2019-01, 120,000 miles“Takata recall- I had a accident while vehicle was in motion which caused air bag deployment. Injuries included facial cut to chin requiring external and internal stitches, a concussion, black eye and other cuts ( have photographs that could not be uploaded due to size) takata informed me I may have claim. I filled out there forms only to be denied three times, the last one due to my vehicle not on recall list. My question is why is my vehicle not on recall when I have suffered the exact injury's from the air bag as described in the recall. Thank you.”
