2007 Toyota Tacoma Fuel system Problems

“Fuel tank strap rusted and broke. No warning. I was hearing a noise when I took take off and driving. Couldn't figured out what that was until I looked back and found the gas tabs strap was tangling and hit the prop shaft. Then notice the tank was hanging 1/2'lower than the front. I called the Toyota and the dealership and both said nothing they can do. No recall even though I told both that this is a safety issue. This vehicle has not had the frame replaced and I tried to get that done but they said it expired. I've only own the vergil's for 3mths. …”

“I have a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 5 or 6 times over the past year I have gone out into the garage to find the fuel pump has started running on its own. I can take the keys out of the ignition with no results. The only way to stop it is to turn the ignition back on and then off again. Took to dealer who said they could find nothing and they said they have to duplicate the problem before they will investigate further. This would almost be impossible to be at the dealer when its parked.”

“I was passing another vehicle in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma. The accelerator stuck while passing. I tapped it twice trying to release it and applied the brakes. The accelerator pedal would not release and the vehicle continued to accelerate. I quickly turned off the ignition and coasted to a stop. The pedal was still laying on the floor when I stopped so I opened the engine hood and looked to see if I could see the cable linkage and see what was causing the problem. I then went back to the cab to see if the floor mat was causing the problem (it was not). …”

“I was exiting the parking lot of home depot in barboursville, wv in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 and when I attempted to stop for a vehicle to enter the parking lot, the engine revved up causing me to strike the incoming vehicle in the passenger side door. During the time before I could put the vehicle in neutral and turn of the engine, I was applying as much pressure on the brake pedal as I could and the Tacoma was still moving into the other vehicle with the engine revving at a high rate. This is the only time this has happened in the vehicle since I bought it new in march 2007. …”

“Drive shaft u joint failed while operating at high speed. Drive shaft snapped off at high speed and cracked fuel tank and exhaust. Truck has had frame recalled and leaf springs recalled. Truck has been in shop already 4 times regarding frame recall.”
