Too newThis model year is less than 4 years old, so a trend is not meaningful yet.

NHTSA recorded 6 complaints about the visibility of the 2024 Toyota Tundra, 2% of the 350 complaints for this model year. 1 of these say a crash was involved, according to the filers.

Fewer than 15 complaints name this part, so treat the figures as a rough indication only.

“My Toyota Tundra's windshield spontaneously cracked while I was sitting at a stop in the vehicle. The crack started below the hood line and there are huge number of Tundra owners having the same issues with Tundras manufactured from 2022 - 2026. Toyota refused to acknowledge the issue but it is widespread on the internet.”

NHTSA complaint #11759732, filed 2026-08

“While driving on interstate 30 in a new vehicle (3 months old), the sunroof exploded without contact from a foreign object. Went to nearest dealership, and their inspection found No foreign material or signed of impact found. My wife and I were in the vehicle and no object struck us. If the sunshade was not closed the glass would have certainly sprayed in our faces and caused a significant accident that would have killed us and other motorists around us.”

NHTSA complaint #11573667, filed 2024-02

“While driving on the highway at approximately 65mph my sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was as loud as a gunshot and glass rained down into the cab as well as “exploded” upward and outward raining down behind my truck while driving. This startled me and all passengers. There were no vehicles ahead of us or in the oncoming lanes on the other side of the separated highway. No foreign debris was found in the truck and there was no other damage anywhere other than the obvious glass lying everywhere. …”

NHTSA complaint #11634122, filed 2025-01

“The high speed on the wipers is absurdly under powered. It is truly pathetic. The equivalent of low speed on every other vehicle on the road. You can NOT continue to drive in even a minor downpour, safely. Those who insist on doing so WILL cause, or be involved in crashes. Having owned 4 generations of Toyota vehicles amounting to several models, this downgrade is really, very shocking. We have always found our Toyota's to meet or usually exceed safety features. There is NO WAY that they sincerely believed this was okay or were unaware. It exceeds obvious failure by quite a margin. …”

NHTSA complaint #11705172, filed 2025-12

“Prior to the oil change service, the front AC vents were functioning properly. Immediately after the dealership serviced the vehicle, the front vents stopped blowing air. This issue was not present before the visit. Regardless of whether the dealership believes an oil change “should not” affect the AC system, the fact remains that the problem arose directly after the vehicle was in their possession. (In 93 degree weather) Diagnosis determined that the AC front air outlet servo motor was stuck off and that the AC blender box would have to be replaced to remedy the issue.”
