“I recently purchased a 2000 Toyota Tundra. The drivers side visor dropped down upon driving over slight bumps on the highway affecting my vision of the highway. This has happened multiple times since I purchased the vehicle. Diminished and unexpected vision while driving is very hazardous. I've looked for an adjustment on the visor but I found none. I looked online for assistance for this issue and it appears many others have same issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10502225, filed 2013-03, 180,000 miles“Power window on driver's door opens and closes intermittently. Dealer and manufacturer were contacted, and neither was willing to assist the consumer unless he paid out of pocket. However, warranty expired. The power window fails to open. Sometimes slamming the door helps to unstick the window.”
NHTSA complaint #10087609, filed 2004-09, 37,250 miles“Sunroof originally installed on my 2000 Toyota Tundra manufactured by hollandia type: tvs nr.: 426089 separated from the vehicle while driving on interstate 80. Glass got ripped-off and almost hit cars driving behind me.”
NHTSA complaint #10442103, filed 2012-01“While driving on interstate 75 around 5 am, at approx.75mph- driver's window exploded. Most of the glass blew out. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop without incident. No othe rv vehicles were within sight at the time the window blew out. Very little glass entered the truck cab. I experienced only a few minor cuts.”
