“While driving my SRX through downtown area, I was attempting to make a turn and it suddenly wouldn't steer in the direction I wanted it to and when I attempted to hit the brakes it dived directly into a brick wall and all four airbags deployed and car was declared as total loss.”
NHTSA complaint #11374371, filed 2020-11, 100 miles“I drove the vehicle, parked, and I noticed the engine fan didnt turn off in a reasonable amount of time after parked (over 2 hours). I drove to the dealer only for them to refuse to run a simple diagnostic. Was driving and vehicle being accelerating even after I completely removed me feet; I also looked down witnessed the pedal modulating itself in and out, shortly followed by an abrupt braking incident. I was just able to restart and pull over to emergency stop. …”
NHTSA complaint #11005259, filed 2017-07, 54,000 miles“On the interstate (I-74 in indiana) traveling at 70mph the rear toe link broke. My car swayed terribly back and forth and almost spun out completely. I was able to get it to a repair shop (not Cadillac) right off the highway. They said the rear toe link was broken and that caused the problem. When I called my local dealer Cadillac said back in 2015 (before I owned the vehicle) there was a recall and the toe links were adjusted . Clearly the problem was not fixed. If there were any other cars even remotely close to me this could have had devastating consequences. …”
NHTSA complaint #11414939, filed 2021-05, 85,000 miles“Brought my 2010 Cadillac SRX to king o'rourke Cadillac in smithtown, ny on jan 13,2015 for recall issue concerning the rear toe link, GM recall #14557. Car was there 2 days taking care of 4 recall issues. About 4 weeks and roughly 1000 miles later, on friday february 20, 2015, I used the vehicle to go to the doctors and noticed no problems on the way. My 7yr old son was with me. From the doctors I proceeded to my hairdresser, still no issues. At some point on the way home after leaving the hairdresser, I noticed that the car felt abnormally floaty and was swaying over bumps. …”
NHTSA complaint #10690694, filed 2015-02, 70,640 miles“I was rear-ended while I was stopped in traffic. There was minor damage to my rear bumper however this caused numerous issues with my car immediately thereafter. I experienced numerous electrical issues and then it got worse. I lost steering, brakes and and the engine stalled. The car became immobile and had to be towed to the dealership. After they serviced the vehicle, they found that the battery shorted out and the ecu had failed. I believe that because the problems occurred immediately after the collision that it was the collision that triggered them. …”
