NHTSA complaint #11660107, filed 2025-05“I was driving on a highway at approximately 68 MPH. There were no cars in front of me and none beside. The adaptive cruise control system was engaged. The car applied the brakes without warning, as if I was a going to collide with another vehicle. I depressed the brake to turn off the system and hit the gas pedal.”
NHTSA complaint #11662992, filed 2025-05“On the freeway going 70 mph our car decided to slam on the brakes. We had it on supercruise which also uses adaptive cruise control. It was not raining, it was overcast, we were in farm country with no bridges or signs over the roadway. No cars around. It was very scary! I have 2 other cars with adaptive cruise control and have never experienced this.”
NHTSA complaint #11527333, filed 2023-06“This car is equipped with Super Cruise an automated driving feature that I believe had a huge part in my inability to avoid hitting a deer. There should be many more considerations and warnings to consumers to protect them. In my situation I kept driving for much longer than I should have because the strain was not so bad. But the feature does not have a feature to pull over. …”
NHTSA complaint #11571719, filed 2024-02“Near my work place, I drove by that intersection a numerous times. There was nothing in front of me.”
