“When I drive the car the steering binds up. After doing some research they are several vehicles that have this issue. The steering does not return to center and you have to make sure you forcibly turn back to center when driving. I have never drove a vehicle that it would not return to center and drive straight. Please review the complaints on this issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11645881, filed 2025-03“The steering wheel occasionally becomes unresponsive and does not return to center after making turns or slight adjustments, particularly at low to moderate speeds. It was forcing me to manually re-center the wheel. Almost had a bad accident because of this! I have kids and don’t want something bad to happen.”
NHTSA complaint #11659116, filed 2025-05“When driving and turning, the steering wheel does not come back to center and the car keeps turning after releasing the steering wheel causing the car to veer off the road if not turned back manually. This is very unexpected and an unsuspecting driver might not realize this until too late. I am in the process of contacting the dealer I bought the car from. But, searching the internet it seems to be a know problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11756146, filed 2026-08“The steering is heavier on the car and does not return to center after turning. This causes danger while driving if someone cuts off in front of me or I have to stop suddenly due to an animal or any other conditions. I am also assuming this will be dangerous to drive in wet weather as well. I took it to the dealer to check it, and it was diagnosed as a failing steering system; the rack and pinion need to be replaced.”
NHTSA complaint #11753794, filed 2026-07“I have a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV, and I'm experiencing a steering issue. When making left or right turn, the steering wheel does not return to center automatically. This problem has been present since the beginning, and it has gradually been getting worse.”
