“Had issues with my 2007 Impala 3.9l stalling and reducing power on my wife, and at times almost leaving her in or on the road. I have replaced the throttle body, throttle peddle ( twice ) and had the car flashed at the local GM dealer. Now the car not only reads reduced engine power it read starting disabled service throttle and died while she was driving down a busy highway during rush hour.. Causing her to almost be involved in a bad wreck. …”
NHTSA complaint #11348559, filed 2020-08, 120,000 miles“As I was driving the engine light came on and the display read reduced engine power. The car slowed down and resisted as I accelerated. I can only drive about 20 miles per hour. There is no warning and there is a decrease in acceleration. There was no warning and I have my child in the car. This is very dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #10492932, filed 2013-01, 123,000 miles“I was driving at 20 MPH slowing to turn into my parking lot at work and suddenly the car jolted and the power decreased to maybe half. The car never completely shut off. I was able to coast into a parking spot at work when I tried to accelerate there was no power left at all. All I could do was coast, the car still never completely shut off. This was extremely scarey, I just thank god my 5 year old daughter was not with me at the time!!”
NHTSA complaint #10733560, filed 2015-07, 110,987 miles“Reduced engine power/ traction control warning/ gas line fuel leak. This car flashed a reduced engine power message while I was going 65 MPH straight away on busy city (in houston) freeway and the traction control warning light came on. My car then immediately reduced speed and would not go beyond 40 MPH. I was told that the gas line fuel leak has nothing to do with it but it seems very coincidental that this all happened in the same day. …”
NHTSA complaint #10811591, filed 2015-12, 148,000 miles“Returning home from work on interstate noticed it took higher rpms to get up to the 65mph speed limit. After driving for a few minutes I stopped at a red light. The vehicle could then only get up to 40mph and lost power down to 10mph when I pulled over and called it a day. Currently at the shop with 10 different codes showing. Unfortunately I have had it jsut over 5 years and not in warranty any more.”
