“I have 2007 chevy Impala....I have trouble with my electrical...examples: radio lighting dim or normal, alarm for ignitionkey left in place dings muffled or normal ..headlights work or one side or another goes out periodically, visibility...huge windshield post; excessive tire wear at low mileage...suspension problems with weird tire wear on insides of rear tires; manufact. Defect number TSB#08032. …”

NHTSA complaint #10644194, filed 2014-10, 31,000 miles

“The rear tires are wearing terribly on the inside. Significantly more so than any other part of the tires. I had a rear end alignment done on the car, and it was no help at all. I then replaced the tires at 40,000 miles and the same thing is happening. After researching, I found that many police Impala's have this issue, but mine is having the exact same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10280055, filed 2009-08, 27,000 miles

“Vehicle performed poorly over 35 MPH on highway with the rear of the vehicle swaying excessively. The tires on the back of the vehicle wore prematurely. I had a dealership look at the vehicle and there was no damage to vehicle suspension. I had to have an alignment and new tires put on the vehicle. I complained to general motors but they were only reimbursing police vehicles for premature rear tire wear.”

NHTSA complaint #10410601, filed 2011-07, 27,000 miles

“We purchased our 2007 Impala ss on 11/17/09 with 33,003 miles on it. On july 20, 2011 while driving home from work with my wife and stepson on the I-94 freeway in clinton township, mi., the leftside rear tire blewout. We notice that it had broke the inner plastic piece and bent the muffler tip and there was clearly no rubber left on the inside of the tire all you saw was wires. Had to put our spare tire on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10414873, filed 2011-07, 56,743 miles

“I have had to replace the rear tires on my Chevrolet Impala twice in under 20,000 miles due the rear suspension spindles being worn. The discount tire representatives report that they see at least two impalas a week with the same. Problem. Only replaced in police impalas..”
