“Service traction control and then engine power reduced alternating on dash often, while driving. My mechanic could only diagnose the throttle pedal sensor was going out. He replaced the pedal. Twice, it continues to be a problem. All mechanics say I have to take it to dealership, I have a feeling this is a rip-off.”

NHTSA complaint #11004670, filed 2017-07, 145,000 miles

“The check engine light keeps coming on, the scope says vapor leak, I was told to replace the gas cap, so I did and had the engine light turned off. It came back on about 2 weeks later, so I went and bought another gas cap and still the engine light comes on. With the engine light on my start engine button wont turn the engine on for me. Is there any recall for something like this?”

NHTSA complaint #10732909, filed 2015-07, 75,000 miles

“We purchased our 2007 Impala ss on 11/17/09 with 33,003 miles on it. On july 20, 2011 while driving home from work with my wife and stepson on the I-94 freeway in clinton township, mi., the leftside rear tire blewout. We notice that it had broke the inner plastic piece and bent the muffler tip and there was clearly no rubber left on the inside of the tire all you saw was wires. Had to put our spare tire on. …”

“My Impala's service traction control and engine power reduced lights came on 05/07/12 and I loss power to my car. I took my car in to a chevy dealership to have it serviced, I was told after they diagnosed it that I needed a new throttle body so I had it replaced for the cost of $647.00 1 week later I was driving home and my car loss power and shutdown completely luckily I wasn't in heavy traffic and was able to pull over to the side of the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #10458955, filed 2012-05, 9,100 miles

“In 2014 I bought this chevy Impala from a local dealer. Over time a strong odor skunk like smell radiates from the vehicles interior. After trying different things to solve this problem it still wouldn't go away. I recently did some online investigation and found out GM issued a TSB #08-08-110-019 for this problem, but they will not fix because car is out of warranty. This is a really strong odor afraid somebody is going to get sick. What can be done about this to get it fixed, I think GM should be totally responsible for this problem.”
