NHTSA complaint #10039692, filed 2003-09, 81,000 miles“The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. While driving 20 MPH, the vehicle caught on fire between the accelerator pedal and engine firewall. The fire department was notified and was able to extinguish the fire. A fire report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact sustained minor blisters to the bottom of the feet, which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. NHTSA complaint #10993358, filed 2017-06, 232,000 miles“Vehicle not only has steering, linkage, seat belt, and brake problems as reported, but also accelerator sticks. Was repaired last in the fall of 2002, but as soon as temperature outside got to 60 fahrenheit the petal began to stick again. When you do get pedal to depress vehicle jumps forward rapidly. Does all the time when weather is warm.”
NHTSA complaint #10023006, filed 2003-06“Vehicle was taken to dealer for a loud noise that could be heard from the right front wheel when the wheel was turned hard to the right, the dealership would fix this by greasing the steering stops, however after a couple hundred miles the problem would return, a service rep informed consumer that the area of the suspension was metal on metal and would need to be frequently lubricated because there was no way to retain grease on those parts.”
NHTSA complaint #559311, filed 2001-08“I believe it is bad business to have this many window motor complaints and not have issued a recall, in addition to have had this many problems on a year old vehicle is ludicrous. Chevrolet has lost a once loyal customer.”
