“Our 2015 Durango limited makes a thumping noise, sounds like an impact in the rear of the vehicle. The dealership has not been able to diagnose the problem, and cant duplicate it. My wife has heard this noise since we purchased this vehicle. We have owned 3 other durangos with the same body style and have never heard the same sound.”
NHTSA complaint #10971937, filed 2017-04, 4,000 miles“This vehicle has rolled back while in park at least 4 times now. Yesterday being the most severe as I was standing behind the vehicle when unloading groceries in my driveway. The vehicle rolled back over me injuring my leg. Luckily my kids were not behind the vehicle or it could have been really dangerous. I know longer feel safe with this vehicle. It was purchased used through carmax.”
NHTSA complaint #11074674, filed 2018-02, 36,000 miles“Vehicle was in park position on a side road. It was still running since we weren't going to remain parked there except for a few minutes. I was taking pictures of my son before his band concert near the school where the vehicle was parked. It remained stationary/parked for up to 4 minutes at which point in time it started rolling down the inclined road unattended. Have no idea what part of the care malfunctioned to switch it out of park. So unkown.”

The temperature at the time was approximately 25 degrees farenheit in new jersey.as part of remote start the heat and rear windshield are automatically turned on below a certain temperature. I entered the car at approximately 6:22 am and after driving for about 3/4 mile there was a loud explosion. Part of the glass had shattered as well as glass around the perimeter of the rear.”
